Nov 2012

Hello my deadly nightshades,

Alas it has been a long while since my last post! The reason being, is that I've been away on holidays, so it has taken me some time to readjust to real life... haha!

Anyways, just a quick one for now... been inspired by a lot of beauty products lately, namely false eyelashes and liquid eyeliner, which I know, is nothing new (except to me)!! Thank goodness for the opening of discount Japanese goods stores like Daiso and Tokuya, I am going to explore these new products and may post some pictures if they turn out well ^^ (and others too)

I also bought, on a whim, a cute black top hat fascinator to go with my black velvet jersey dress which I bought in H&M, whilst I was on holidays. Hopefully I shall be able to wear my new ensemble in the next anime convention (or costume party!) along with my signature black headdress! xD

I shall be creating some more cute / gothic designs soon, so keep an eye out!!

Yours lovingly in darkness,
~Frejya

SMASH - Stellar Success!!

Hello there my darling deadly night shades!

First, thank you to those of you who visited my stall last Saturday 14th July at the Sydney Convention Centre. I hope you enjoyed your time at the Sydney Manga and Anime Show just as much as I did! xD

Photo courtesy of my friend - owner of Paper Panda

Special thanks to those who dropped by and purchased something from me (Frejya) - I do hope you'll treasure these items that were all lovingly handmade by yours truly. I designed each item as a one-off piece so they are all unique! ^^

My friends from Romance Noir (http://www.romancenoir.com/) and Paper Panda also shared my stall, so if you're interested in seeing more of their handmade designs, be sure to check on the links on this page (Paper Panda link will be updated soon!)

You may be interested to know that I shall be holding an online stall very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for it!

Many thanks for your support, as always ^^

Until next time,

Frejya xox

Adding the Finishing Touches...

Hello again my darling deadly nightshades!

As SMASH is a only month away, I have been crazily busy adding the final touches to this year's collection of headdresses. There will be 8 new black designs, along with some pink and blue ones from previous years.

The image above is the first to be completed- all 100% hand made and designed - I do hope you like it!

Along the way, I have also been busy creating some new felt cake mobile phone straps, two of them are shown below! (A few more are in the making):

Two mobile phone straps from my new Choco~Hana collection: Cookies & Creme (Left) and Chocolate Heart (Right)

Hopefully this year it will be a stellar success!! Depending on how things go, this may be my last year holding a stall at SMASH (haha)... it's just that I am so terribly time poor >_< So tired...

I do hope you will continue supporting me nonetheless, especially if you'll be in Sydney on Sat 14th July! ^^

Until next time!!~

SMASH is only 6 weeks away!

Hello all!

Wuah time has flown so fast and it's Winter already! The perfect weather to snuggle up in a comfy armchair by the fireplace, a cup of hot cocoa on the side and a good book in your hands... well in my case, some cute felt stuffs to sew! (And no, there is no fireplace where I am haha)

As I wrote previously, I have secured some exotic laces, but unfortunately there wasn't much variety this time around to decorate my headdresses with :(

On another note, I have had some time to make some cute felt accessories, which I'll upload here. I hope you look forward to seeing my complete Choco-Hana collection at my booth "Frejya x Romance Noir" in SMASH, Sat 14th January 2012 at the Sydney Convention Centre! ^^

And of course, I'll have my EGL accessories too (which are in the making...)

Enjoy!! Maybe I shall see you in 6 weeks' time!

Moonphase ~ A Poem

We weave the wisps of moon dust
Trailing in waves as we dance
Silently, sweepingly on its surface
Poised, in delicate motion
Swoon, in elegant embrace
Grey eternity in diamond-like stars
Reflecting the distance within ourselves
As the eyes of our youth grow dimmer
We hold onto hope that glimmers
In a dreamlike, whimsical trance
And become once more the moon dust
That leaves our footsteps in the past

Creativity lurks beneath the surface of every waking moment... Alas I am back at work onsite, but this time I have brought down some of my felt craft supplies!! Hopefully I'll be able to sneak in time to make a few cute mobile phone straps in time for SMASH 2012- oh and speaking of which, my applicatioin was a SUCCESS!!

If you are reading this, I hope you will continue to support our stall, which will be called Frejya x Romance Noir! ^^ Otherwise, I look forward to meeting you and sharing the love of Gothic Lolita fashion!

When I return home in another month (for the weekend) I will be adding the finishing touches to this year's collection of designer Gothic Lolita / Alice Headdresses... all hand made by me from locally and internationally sourced materials!

I hope you look forward to them too ;)

Until next time,
Frejya

Inspiration...

Ever felt like every day doesn't feel quite real?

That's what I'm feeling at this very moment... physically away from the place I call home at heart, new friends just a few doors down but relishing the freedom I get alone. And it's peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Sky is grey but the sun's still shining. Memories just don't lead up to this day...

Waking every morning from a dream I can't remember, except for the few that linger the last few seconds, a reminder of what I'm still afraid of deep down. Coming back to reality, before I swing my feet off the bed, I count my blessings and tell myself how grateful I am for the little things in the every day, and the people I've met along the way. The acquaintances. The close friends. Even those who I used to love but have only left me with a taste of lessons to come...

With these thoughts, I am inspired to make use of my creative outlets to dress up a little poetic license and indulge in my passion for writing. Alas my craft tools and materials are still far from reach but I shall be looking forward to the day I can get my hands on them and create more beautiful pieces for others to cherish...

I believe in the "I saw this and thought of you" moments that make each item so very dear and so unique to all of us, don't you agree? Its price in money doesn't factor into its value, and that is the inspiration I take with all the pieces I create...

As of writing, I am awaiting the arrival of beautiful, exotic laces to dress up my very bare headdresses. In one more month I hope to be able to finish off my designs and show you all a snippet of what's to come. Fingers crossed my application for SMASH 2012 is successful >_<

Until next time, keep your thoughts happy and pure!!

Comeback!!

Hello to all my lovely deadly night shades,

I haven't been updating this blog in ages due to my travels for work, so my sincerest apologies for that...

To update, many things have happend to me, mostly regarding work so I've been pretty flat out and interstate for most of the year. However, you will be glad to hear that I've managed to fit in some time over the Christmas break to design a range of new headdresses, sourced from both locally and internationally bought matierals <3 I will be back at SMASH 2012 again, sharing a stall with my good friend from Romance Noir, as well as a newcomer designer friend who makes cute paper craft. I do hope you can come visit our stall and support us on the day!!

Now that I've revived this blog, I'll do my best to update it regularly. Who knows, maybe it WILL end up as my personal blog after all!

Until next time,
~Frejya xox
